It is something like the 4th or 5th day of tour - its hard to keep track of such things when your having so much damn fun! Tonight we are @ R3v3rb in Greenville South Carolina and have been walking around this beautiful town all day spreading word of the show. Since we weren't smart enough to start this up on the 1st day of tour...I shall fill you a bit of what's been going on inside the van:
Our first real drive ended us up in Philly for the first night where several thank you's are seriously due. Our show was over @ The Fire the first night w/Kettle Pot Black.
BJ from KPB was nice enough to hook up some floor space for 4 of us (THANK YOU!) along with Gabe who took in the other 4 - and we met up with our fellow Philadelphian's Jen & Gabe along with Steph and Danielle who drove all the way from NY! Totally made our show
that night - we would like to thank all of you and Berklee, BJ's dog for being awesome and a runt. The next day we woke up to explore Philly and all its glory (and cheese-steaks) until we made it over to Crossroads Cafe. The night began with an awesome Jazz set by a very talented duo (I will try to find out your names!) and was interrupted by a KOIL arriving by means of long board. Dan Rendine gave us some much needed folk in our steps and then it was time for the wall of amplifiers to turn on. Thank you Jen/Gabe & friends (again!!) and Catherine for coming out! Afterwards we said our goodbyes - and attempted to pack the trailer back up. This is much much easier said than done.
Now for some reason we figure an overnight drive to North Carolina is the proper way to go about things - 8 hours later we arrive groggy and needing showers. Our first attempts at life failed pretty hard when we attempted to find a Kinko's to print out more flyers for Feb and ended up with getting horrible horrible bagels and walking unnecessarily through the
cold and rain until we realized Kinko's was miles away. After wanting to rip my computer in half some more flyers were made 4 hours later, and some rest at a cofffee shop down the block was achieved. We went around and talked to people and met Faith who you shall here about later. We then proceeded to The Pour House in downtown Raleigh and try to figure out why they want to charge $200 for use of their P.A system. The venue is a lot nicer than we all had expected (we thought this show was going to be a bust) and we all explored its many intricacies (such as the Galaga Machine and Pool Tables). Faith came through big time with a friend and hooked up pictures for both sets - along with Kia's Cousin Tor! who brought at leeeasst 16 people. This show was a lot of fun for the both of us, mainly for the cavernous like sound the venue produced. The free beers we got were great local brews and the times had were wonderful.
Now, there is a very big THANK YOU the 8 of us are giving out to TOR for hooking it up BIG TIME. W
Our new altnerator wasn't coming in until the following day, so we got lucky that we had a day off and a place to stay again. Backkkk to Tor/Erika's house were we ate lots of pizza and watched the Dark Knight on Blue Ray. The night got a little stupid when we started to dip into my SKY and took a bunch of shots before passing out to wake up @ 7:30am.
Sooooo TODAY, right. All this living in the past....we take a very nice drive down to South Carolina to Greenville - where we sound find out is absolutely gorgeous. Theres waterfalls, parks, really expensive latte's (just finished my hazelnut) and friendly people. We walked around to hand out a bunch of promo CD's and I guess we will find out in a little bit if any of that worked for us!
I think thats enough jibber jabber for one sitting, keep checking back as we are unforunate enough to have a video camera in our possesions which WING got to using today.
PEACE.
